Once you've been to this Essence a handful of times you realize that the same 4 or 5 people run this place, and they're all great hosts. Paired with the great service is the amazing food, which is always excellent. I suggest trying the goat dishes for a nice change from the usual.

Of the Indian restaurants in Tallahassee, this one is by far the BEST. The food is always delicious and the spices the chefs use are always the most fragrant; I have yet to have a bad meal here. I especially recommend the tikka masala or the vindaloo. Each meal is served with papadoms and an assortment of chutneys, much like the bread baskets you would see at an American restaurant. The staff are welcoming and very attentive. Great food, good service, open environment--what's not to like?
